Five centuries after Christopher Columbus first heard  the word Cohiba , the Dominican Smoke was developed by Diaz y Cia in 1978. However, in the 1990’s this cigar was redrafted, and is the only Cahiba smoke that is legally sold today in the United States. This Cohiba smoke took years to develop and this explains its exquisite taste. Its dark rich wrapper leaf is grown in the subtropical climate of Cameroon in West Africa. The Jember binder is subtle and favorable and its Piloto Cubano filler leaves grown in the Dominican Republic balance the richness of its wrapper. Although this Dominican Cohiba cigar is an exhilarating smoke, it has an intense flavor, as well as history and is made to not over power its smoker.
