A good smoke with lots of flavor!

With Jeff writing a great article about the how Partagas was started and what has come to pass within that time, any attempt of mine to tell you about the company would be superfluous at best.  So I will only tell you the very basics of this cigar.

Oh yeah, I might want to mention the name of the cigar.  Well folks, today I am smoking the Partagas Spanish Rosada 1845 San Agustin 52 x 5 ½ .

The wrapper is a Honduran San Agustin

Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf

Filler: Dominican, Mexican, Honduran

Made in the Dominican Republic at the General Cigar Dominicana Factory

This cigar is rated as a medium to full bodied cigar. You can view their website at www.Cigarworld.com

To begin with what an amazing scent this cigar has.  It has tones of peppery spice with rich undertones of cedar wood.  The wrapper has a rough classic look to it.  This cigar looks to be a great cigar and I am looking forward to smoking it just for you so lets get started.

The cigar cut pretty well.  The tobacco inside looks to be packed tightly but pre-light, the draw is perfect.  I will light it up and see what it really tastes like. This Spanish darling was very easy to light up and the taste right off the bat is quite unique.

It isn’t that strong, but neither is it bland. It has a muted earth taste to it.  I like it.  It is burning with a nice white ash to it. The cigar has maintained it ease of draw.  Gentle plumes of smoke are cascading from the cigar due to the easy draw all the while my ash is growing longer and longer.

The only other Partagas cigar that I have had in the past was their black label cigar which I didn’t like.  I wasn’t very tempted to try another one after that.  Heck, I couldn’t smoke cigars for a while after that one so the idea of smoking a Partagas wasn’t very well received.  BUT I must say I have been pleasantly surprised.  The Partagas 1845 Spanish Rosado is a great cigar.

I would rate is as only a medium but it has a nice quite flavor to it that leaves you satisfied, but not overwhelmed.  I bought this smoke for $6.00 so it fits right in there with a whole host of $6 sticks.  I would buy this cigar again and again.  It is a perfect afternoon smoke when you don’t want something so heavy, but you want to taste what you are smoking.  SO go ahead and give this cigar a shot and pick up on at your local tobacconist.  You will love it. If you are interested in having me review a particular cigar for our site just let me know what it is that so captivates you. You can e-mail me at
